Digital Art

I'm currently doing Traci Bautista's digital canvas e-course and learning how to use Procreate, Artrage and Noteshelf apps. Apps that confuse me somewhat, not having a photoshop background I find them  a little baffling to say the least. Anyway one of the tips Traci imparted is to utilize your own artwork in your photos, so today I got out my mixed media art journals and photographed a stack of pages.
Using Blender, Snapseed and a texture from Dan Marcolino this is what I came up with.

The above photo was taken in the city last week. I think I used snapseed and photocopier, sometimes I can't remember which apps I used.

Purple Haze

From this ........

To this........

Two apps, Slow Shutter Cam and Snapseed.
So don't discard those not quite so good shots, turn them into abstracts. It's a lot of fun and the results can be quite amazing.

Umbrella

I took this photo on the weekend at a festival in North Perth. It was an extremely hot day, despite the fact we are a month and a half into autumn. This lady had the right idea.

I converted it into black and white, then used Blurfx to well.....blur, then retouch to remove some distracting elements, snapseed to crop and apply a filter or two, then distressedfx for some grunging and then pixlromatic for framing.
